Dr. Alyssa Wislander

DNP, ARNP · Primary Care Provider

Alyssa has been a nurse since 2003 and a nurse practitioner since 2011. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa, followed by her master’s degree, post-master’s degree, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Her experience spans primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, and flight nursing. She spent six years as a clinical instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and has taught dermatologic procedures at national conferences.

Alyssa values unhurried conversations and care plans made together. She has a special fondness for caring for children and helping every patient feel comfortable and heard. Outside the practice, she enjoys life in Davenport with her husband, Pete.

Sophie VanSeveren

PA-C · Physician Assistant

A Davenport Assumption graduate, Sophie returned to the Quad Cities to care for the community she calls home. She studied psychology and neuroscience at the College of the Holy Cross before earning her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at St. Ambrose University.

Sophie brings a passion for patient care and a warm, welcoming personality to Essential Health. She’s excited to build lasting relationships with patients and work alongside Alyssa to make personal primary care more accessible in our community.

Pete Wislander

Office & Business Manager

Pete helps keep the practice running smoothly, supporting patient care and managing the office and business side of Essential Health. He also leads marketing efforts to connect more people across the Quad Cities with our services.

As Alyssa’s husband and a familiar face in the office, Pete shares our commitment to a welcoming, personal experience for every patient.

Luke Wislander

NREMT · Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician

Luke is a 2022 Davenport Central High School graduate who completed EMT training at Black Hawk College in Moline. He brings his training and local roots to the Essential Health team.

Working with our providers, Luke supports patients with acute-care triage, vital signs, IV preparation, and blood draws. He also helps manage medical supplies and assists with prescription refills in our pharmacy.
